Our first six litters took us rather by surprise.
Everyone told us our young boar Piggie Smalls wouldn't be able to breed anyone till he was 9 months to a year. But no one told Smalls that. He impregnated all six of our girls within a few weeks of each other when he was just 6 months old, resulting in a 42 piglet palooza last fall. Whew! We learned a lot from the experience, including the beauty of kunekunes' co-parenting style. Smalls and the six mommas cared for the babies together, pooling their resources to keep them all safe, warm and fed. Very different from large commercial breeds, and marvelous to behold!
None of these piglets are currently available.
