Pine Balm

Pine Balm

from $12.95

Elevate your skincare regimen with the rich heritage of North Carolina and the revitalizing potency of pine.

Pine trees hold an iconic status in our region, as they've lent their name to the renowned village of Pinehurst and have been at the core of the area's historic turpentine and smoke-cured tobacco industries. (Fun fact: Our herbal workshop is actually housed in a beautifully restored tobacco curing barn dating back to 1933!)

But long before pine became a fuel for industry, it was revered for centuries by native communities for its remarkable medicinal properties. This healing conifer not only delights the senses with its exquisite aroma but also offers exceptional anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial attributes, making it the ideal remedy for skin concerns such as dryness, cracks, redness, and itching. Pine not only soothes but actively supports your skin's natural healing process, leaving you with nourished, rejuvenated, and beautifully balanced skin.

To craft our Pine Balm, we gather needles, bark, and resin from our own organically managed forests, ensuring a sustainable and pure source for this balm. We unlock the potential of pine through a slow cold-infusion process that blends the essence of this iconic North Carolina tree with the nourishing qualities of coconut and jojoba oils. Your skin deserves the magic of nature, and our balm delivers just that.

ETHICALLY &
SUSTAINABLY GROWN

We take pride in ethically and sustainably growing our ingredients. Our farm provides not only food and healing plant medicine for humans but also abundant habitat for wildlife and native plant species. Farming for us is about establishing balanced self-sustaining ecosystems using as light of a touch as possible. No chemicals or shortcuts. Just slow and steady progress.

HAND HARVESTED
& PROCESSED

We hand-harvest all of the botanicals we use, ensuring we never take more than we can process at a time. The same person who forages the pine also dries it, infuses it into oil, and creates a nourishing salve just for you. We produce our goods in small batches to guarantee freshness.

FARMING FORWARD BY
THINKING BACKWARDS

At Slow Farm, we believe in farming forward by thinking backwards. Rather than viewing soil as a means to support farming, we see farming as an opportunity to restore and nourish our soil. We tackle environmental challenges by researching and implementing livestock and plant species that contribute to sustainable solutions.

This slow and sustainable method has allowed us to plant over 400 native herb, fruit, and nut plants on our 47-acre farm, promoting biodiversity and creating a resilient ecosystem that can also nourish our community. Native plants require no fertilizers or irrigation, as they have evolved to thrive in the local environment. This makes them highly sustainable food and wellness resources.

The non-native crops we grow, such as camellia sinensis, tulsi, and rosemary, are xerotolerant, meaning they can grow in hot and dry conditions.
