The Harvest

The Dewberry is a survivor. A century ago, our town of Cameron, NC was the "Dewberry Capital of the World." These sweet, petite cousins of the blackberry thrive in our dry, sandy soil where other crops fail. While the industry moved on, the brambles remained on the wild edges. We don't fight these "weeds"; we harvest them. We are one of the few farms reclaiming this history, hand-picking the berries at peak ripeness to capture their fierce summer energy.

The Process

Capturing the "zing" of a wild dewberry is a technical challenge. We transform the whole, fresh fruit into a concentrated, water-free pigment. This rigorous reduction captures the deep, jammy hue of the fruit without the moisture that compromises shelf life. We deepen this berry stain with wild-foraged alkanet root and organic beetroot, blending the concentrate with raw shea butter and organic oils. Because the formula is waterless and rich in natural antioxidants, it remains stable and fresh on your vanity all year.

While our Persimmon tinted balm acts like a subtle bronzer, the Dewberry offers a cool-toned berry hue that gives a sun-kissed glow to a tan and a healthy flush to paler skin. Because it is a sheer concentrate, it accents your natural skin tone rather than masking it.

We skipped the spice rack and leaned into the berry vibes with our farm-grown Rose Mint Agastache, an herb that smells of rose and lemon, doubling down on the bright, fruity profile.

An Annual Vintage

We release this balm only once a year. Because we rely on the plants' natural rhythm, we cannot simply "make more" when inventory runs out. That is why we sized this jar at 0.5 oz—three times the size of a standard lip balm. It is designed to be a year-round staple that replaces your blush and lipstick. One jar provides a full year of daily rituals, bridging the gap until the dewberries bloom again.
