The Harvest
The wild American Persimmon is a lesson in patience. You cannot pick the fruit; you have to wait for the tree to give it to you. We harvest these "windfalls" from the wild edges of Slow Farm, often racing our herd of pigs to collect the fruit from the dewy grass at dawn. It is a spirited negotiation—we happily share this sweet bounty with the herd, the opossums, and the coyotes, but we claim the finest fruits for Slow Goods.
The Process
Capturing the color of a wild persimmon is a technical challenge. We transform the fresh windfalls into a concentrated, water-free pigment, capturing the terracotta hue of the fruit without the moisture that compromises shelf life. We blend this wild concentrate with raw shea butter, US-grown organic jojoba oil, and local sunflower oil to create a sheer, living color that balances your complexion.
The Ritual
Think of it as a natural highlighter. Dab it on lips, cheekbones, or eyelids—anywhere the sun would naturally touch your face. It warms up the skin, brightens the eyes, and lifts the spirit, carrying the vibrancy of the fall harvest into the quiet of winter.
The Scent
Subtle, herbaceous and grounding. Farm-grown rosemary and tulsi smoothed out with the subtle spiced warmth from our Bay Rum Laurel and a touch of local honey.
An Annual Vintage
We release this balm only once a year, right after the fruit falls. Because we rely on wild harvests, we cannot simply "make more" when inventory runs out. That is why we sized this jar at 0.5 oz—three times the size of a standard lip balm. It is designed to be a one-stop glow up that replaces your blush, lipstick, and highlighter. One jar provides a full year of daily rituals, carrying you all the way to the next harvest.
